The Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme is the government’s main mechanism for supporting low-carbon electricity generation.
This page pulls together all documents relating to the third CfD allocation round (AR3) which is planned to open by May 2019. It will be open to eligible Pot 2 (less established) renewable technologies.
Ahead of AR3, the government ran a public consultation on amendments to the scheme. It covered:
the treatment of onshore wind on remote islands
the requirements applied to new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) projects
a change in the definition of waste used in the CfD scheme
a further wider range of proposals.
A follow on consultation invited views on the how decisions resulting from the first consultation should be implemented into the CfD scheme.
The revised draft Standard Terms and Conditions and Generic Agreement documents are available along with the government response to the Amendments to Contract Consultation below. They reflect the changes made to the CfD contract from Allocation Round 3 (AR3) onwards.
