These statements set out the biodiversity net gain (BNG) requirements for nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs).
Biodiversity gain statements set out how nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) must calculate, deliver and report on biodiversity net gain (BNG).
BNG will become mandatory for NSIPs from 2 November 2026. From that date, the biodiversity gain statements will have the same effect as if they were included in a national policy statement.
