Analysis of charities subject to an inquiry, compliance or monitoring case

Charity Commission analysis of inquiry, compliance and monitoring casework.

Each report is published separately.

The Commission analyses its inquiry, compliance and monitoring casework according to the information on the register of charities and submitted by charities in their annual returns, including by purpose (classification), beneficiary group, income, and the charities’ age (years since registration).

The Commission is confident that there is no bias in the way that it assesses concerns or makes decisions about opening such cases.

All such decisions are made by applying its risk framework. However, this analysis helps to provide additional assurance that there do not appear to be any areas of significant over or under-representation in the charities into which inquiries, compliance or monitoring cases are opened.
