Apply to Buckingham Palace to get a free birthday or anniversary message from the Queen - only certain birthdays and anniversaries count and you may need to send proof.

You can’t apply earlier than 3 weeks before the celebration date. You can get a belated message up to 6 months after your birthday or anniversary.

Birthdays

You can get a message for:

  • 100th birthday
  • 105th birthday
  • each year following your 105th birthday

You’ll need to include a copy of your birth certificate if you were born abroad.

The address to send your application to is on the form.

Anniversaries

You can get a message for:

  • 60th (diamond) anniversary
  • 65th anniversary
  • 70th (platinum) anniversary
  • each year following your 70th anniversary

You’ll need to include a copy of your marriage certificate. The address to send your application to is on the form.

If you live abroad

You’ll need to show evidence of your British nationality.

For birthdays, you’ll also need to include a copy of your birth certificate.

If you live in Australia, Canada or New Zealand, send the completed application form to your Governor-General.
