Make a complaint about the Valuation Office
Contact the Valuation Office to complain about the service provided for Council Tax, business rates, self-catering holiday lets or Local Housing Allowance and fair rents.
The Valuation Office can only consider your complaint if:
- we provided a poor service
- you experienced unreasonable delays
- we have not acted in accordance with our charter
- we did not apply policy and guidance fairly and consistently
- we made mistakes or provided substandard or misleading advice

Include the following information in your complaint:
- your name, home address and telephone number
- the address of the relevant property, if it’s different from your home address
- any case reference numbers
- what went wrong and how it affected you
- copies of any correspondence related to your complaint
- what you would like to happen as a result of your complaint
- if you need extra support with your complaint because of a health condition or your personal circumstances
