Work Experience In Humber LEP (OC18S18P1182)

Call to run a project to pilot a work experience programme across secondary schools/learning providers in the Humber region, through the provision of support to SME employers.

The expectation is that the pilot will work with a diverse range of providers and SMEs to enable key lessons for future investment.

Projects should clearly outline how they will:

  • Remove barriers that are preventing SMEs from providing work experience opportunities
  • Broker opportunities for young people to engage in work experience and related activities within SMEs
  • Provide meaningful/inspiration interactions with employers for young people (i.e. tasters, work experience, mentors, meet the employer sessions). This will include directly working with the LEP to ensure no activity is duplicated via the Careers Hub or other funded provision
  • Engage employers in curriculum design and delivery, focusing on priority industries where existing provision is not otherwise available *Provide a personalised support service for employers to ensure they receive advice and guidance regarding any young person engaged in work experience or similar activity
