Call to run a project that provides training and support for people with basic and low skills, in particular addressing needs of the disadvantaged.

This call is to provide additional training and support for people at basic and low skills levels, in particular addressing the needs of disadvantaged groups in and out of the workplace. It will address skills shortages or needs in the GBSLEP Growth Sectors and sectors where there is significant job replacement demand or with employers where they demonstrate the need for succession planning.

The Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP area is made up of: Cannock Chase, Lichfield, Tamworth and East Staffordshire (Transition Region) and Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Wyre Forest (More Developed region).

The project must cover the Greater Birmingham and Solihull.


Approximately £6,250,000 of funding is available.


Outline application deadline: 05 October 2017.

Completion date

The project must be completed no later than 10 February 2021.
