Ways to become a trainer

  1. Apply to become a DVSA enhanced rider scheme trainer.

  2. Get an advanced riding qualification if you do not already have one.

  3. Pass a theory test.

  4. If you’re not a direct access scheme (DAS) certified instructor, you also need to take a training course accredited by DVSA.

You must complete the training course within 2 years of passing the theory test, or you’ll have to start the process again.
