The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) have merged to form the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

You should only apply for your criminal record check if you’ve been told to by the become a driving instructor tool or the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

Proving your identity
When you’ve finished the online application, you must give proof of your identity. You can do this using either the Post Office ID checking service or by sending documents to TMG CRB by post using the address below.
Post Office ID checking service
To use the Post Office ID checking service, download the checking form and take it, with the right documents, to your local Post Office offering the ‘CRB & ID verification service’.
The service costs £7.15.
To use the postal check service, you’ll have to send your original ID documents and a pre-paid special delivery envelope to TMG CRB by special delivery.
The total cost is £11.80.
