Check when you will get your visa decision
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) contact centre staff can only give you an update on the status of your visa application if both of the following apply:
- it has taken UKVI longer than usual to process your visa application
- UKVI has not already contacted you about your application
Check how long UKVI usually takes to process your type of visa application
How long it takes to process your visa depends on the type of visa you applied for.
You can use an online service to check your visa processing time if you applied for a visa to:
-
study
-
visit as a tourist or see family and friends
-
work or attend a business event
-
lecture, carry out research or do an academic or clinical placement
-
get married or enter into a civil partnership
-
have medical treatment
-
travel through (‘transit’) on the way to another country
You can also use the online service if you applied for a visa as a British National Overseas (BNO) with connections to Hong Kong.
If you do not have one of these visas, you’ll need to find the processing time for your type of visa.
If you paid for a faster decision using the ‘priority service’ or ‘super priority service’
