Help with your online immigration status (eVisa)

Get help if you are having problems accessing your eVisa or viewing and proving your immigration status.

An eVisa is a digital record of your identity and your immigration status.

You can use your eVisa to do things like:

  • prove your identity or immigration status to others - for example, an employer or landlord
  • check when your permission to be in the UK started and when it ends
  • check what you can do in the UK - for example, the types of work you can do
  • update the details the Home Office uses to contact you - for example, if you get a new phone number or email address

Check if you need an eVisa

If you currently use a physical immigration document to prove your immigration status, you’ll need to set up access to your eVisa. For example, if you use:

You can use a global web form (GWF) number or unique application number (UAN) to access your eVisa if you do not have a document.

You cannot get access to an eVisa if you do not already have permission to live in the UK. There’s a different way to apply for a visa to come to the UK.

Get access to your eVisa

If you’ve not accessed your eVisa before, you’ll need to:

  • check if you’ve got a UKVI account - you can create one if you do not have one
  • confirm your identity and link your account to your eVisa
