What you cannot send
You cannot send some items in BFPO mail. If you send banned items your whole parcel may be delayed or returned to you.
Items you cannot send
Items you cannot send include:
- alcohol
- arms and ammunition (includes toy guns if posting to a BFPO 5000 series address or an address in the United States, Canada or Australasia)
- Christmas crackers
- financial documents that you cannot replace if lost (not including bank statements or cards)
- flammable liquids (except up to 150ml of perfume or aftershave to UK locations)
- fragile items
- indecent, obscene or offensive material
- liquids classified as dangerous goods
- liquids of any type being sent to United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai and Bahrain
- loose batteries
- over 1 litre of liquids per parcel
- prescription medicines and drugs sent for scientific purposes
- pressurised containers (including aerosols like deodorants and shaving foams or gels)
- blades, sharp items and instruments (including razor blades, scissors, kitchen knives or utensils)

Batteries
The only batteries you can send are:
- up to 8 disposable or rechargeable batteries that are AA size or smaller, kept in their original packaging
- lithium batteries that are connected to a device, such as a laptop, mobile phone or small power tool
