To be eligible for a Warm Homes loan:
- you must own the property you’re applying for, either with or without a mortgage
- the property must be in the UK
- the property must be residential, not commercial
Lenders may also have more eligibility rules.
What you must use your loan for
You must use the loan to pay for one or more of the following energy saving improvements:
- air source and ground source heat pumps
- solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
- battery storage systems
- heat network connections
- domestic wind turbines
- micro hydroelectric systems
You can apply for a loan to pay for more than one improvement.
Approved installers
You must usually get a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certified installer to do the improvement work, but you can get any installer to install heat network connections.
You cannot do the improvement work yourself.
