Warm Homes Loan Scheme
What happens if you’re selected for an audit
After your energy saving improvements have been installed, you may be randomly selected for an audit.
This may be a check by an auditor on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) or a quality check by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
If you’re selected for an audit, it does not mean that something is wrong with your application or installation.
Audits on behalf of DESNZ
You’ll be contacted by the organisation doing the audit on behalf of DESNZ. They will explain the purpose of the audit and might also arrange to visit your property.
You might have to provide documents, for example proof of your identity or address.
If a visit is needed, you will be given at least 48 hours’ notice. When an auditor visits, they can provide identification and details confirming that they are acting on behalf of the DESNZ Warm Homes Loan Scheme.
Audits by the MCS
If you are selected for an audit by the MCS, you’ll be asked questions about the improvements you’ve had installed.
They may also ask to arrange a visit to your property. If a visit is needed, they will give you more information about what it will involve.
