The 2014 MLC regulations form part of the UK's approach to ensuring the safety and protection of seafarers on UK flagged vessels and foreign flagged vessels whilst in the UK.
If a fisherman requires medical care while working on a fishing vessel they must receive this free of charge and costs rest with the fishing vessel owner.
