If you work or live abroad (or have previously)
You must check you can pay voluntary National Insurance contributions for time spent abroad.
If you can, you need to apply to pay contributions.
You must wait to receive an acceptance letter from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) before making any payment. The letter will include your payment reference number.
