You can apply for exclusive rights to cultivate and take fish in an area if you operate a marine fish farm in Northern Ireland.
A marine fish fishery licence gives the holder the exclusive right to cultivate and take a particular species of marine fish within a defined area.
It also provides legislative protection for the fish farm operation.
You need to hold a fish culture licence to apply for an optional marine fish fishery licence.

Completed forms should be returned to the Fisheries Division in DARD.
The position and limits of the licensed area will be defined on the licence. The licence will initially be limited to 5 years.
The licence may have other conditions.
