Claims - rejecting: Rejecting a claim during capture (AG)

To reject a claim that hasn’t been submitted for processing, consider steps 1 to 13.

Step 1

Are you working from the Incomplete Applications work list?

  • yes, go to .
  • no, go to .

Step 2

If you aren’t already using Function MAINTAIN WORKLIST

  • use Function MAINTAIN WORKLIST.

Step 3

In Function MAINTAIN WORKLIST

  • select the Incomplete Applications work list from the Worklist Type field. The claims appearing on the selected work list will be displayed.

Step 4

Select the claim you want to reject.

Step 5

Select ‘File’ on the toolbar menu and select ‘Next Function’ from the options available. You will be taken to the Select Next Function screen.

Step 6

On the Select Next Function screen

  • select Function CAPTURE APPLICATION. You will be taken to that function.

Step 7

Using Function CAPTURE APPLICATION, if all of the information on the claim form hasn’t already been captured

  • capture the remainder of the information on the claim form.

Step 8

When you have completed the Information Summary screen as necessary

  • select [OK]. You will be taken to the Process Application screen which will show one of the following messages

    ‘The information captured is incomplete. This application will be rejected’

    ‘The information captured indicates that the application may be ineligible. This application may be rejected’

  • select [Store]

then

  • pass the claim form or details of the claim, and any correspondence to your manager before you take any further action.

Step 9

When your manager has completed their action

  • take any corrective action, if necessary

then

  • select [Process] on the Process Application screen. The claim will be rejected.

Step 10

Use Function CAPTURE APPLICATION and find the claim you want to reject.

Step 11

If all of the information on the claim form hasn’t already been captured

  • capture the remainder of the information on the claim form.

Step 12

When you have completed the Information Summary screen as necessary

  • select [OK]. You will be taken to the Process Application screen which will show one of the following messages

    ‘The information captured is incomplete. This application will be rejected’

    ‘The information captured indicates that the application may be ineligible. This application may be rejected’

  • select [Store]

then

  • pass the claim form or details of the claim, and any correspondence to your manager before you take any further action.

Step 13

When your manager has completed their action

  • take any corrective action if necessary

then

  • select [Process] on the Process Application screen. The claim will be rejected.
