Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the veterinary nursing sector.
This apprenticeship covers a range of skills and duties that support a veterinary surgeon, caring for animals receiving treatment in a veterinary practice.
You’ll do clinically based training and at least 2 years of work in an approved veterinary nurse training practice. You’ll work with domestic animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits and caged birds, although you could be working with horses and farm animals too.
Type of apprenticeship
This is an advanced level apprenticeship. You could train in roles like:
- veterinary nurse – small animal
- veterinary nurse – equine
- head veterinary nurse
- head equine veterinary nurse
