This apprenticeship provides a foundation in public relations (PR) for new entrants and existing workers in the PR profession.

Training opportunities

Public relations concerns the reputation of organisations and individuals in relation to their public perception and the views of their various publics. It is an organised attempt to influence the behaviour and opinions of stakeholders and stakeholder groups, through short-term and long-term engagement activities.

Within the apprenticeship, the nature of the work will depend on your employer. You are likely to be working as a PR assistant or a Junior Account Executive which may include:

  • creating and executing a public relations campaign for products/services
  • organising events
  • effective writing
  • use of social media

Types of apprenticeships

This is a higher level apprenticeship in public relations. You could train in roles like:

  • PR assistant
  • junior account executive
  • press officer
  • digital communications officer

Apply for a public relations apprenticeship

You can apply for an apprenticeship in England if you’re:

  • 16 or over
  • eligible to work in England
  • not in full-time education
