This guidance was withdrawn on

The Missile Defence and Strategic Systems Programme provides science and technology (S&T) research and analysis to support the UK’s interests in strategic systems and missile defence.

The programme supports other government departments with S&T research in the field of missile defence, strategic technologies and the provision of advice in strategic systems to senior decision makers.

The programme works closely with the UK Missile Defence Centre, a joint Ministry of Defence (MOD) and industry initiative funded by MOD’s Chief Scientific Adviser, to enable the provision of technical and scientific advice to government and senior policy makers on ballistic missile defence and related issues.
