Guidance

Register to offer T Levels

Information for post-16 providers on how to register to offer T Levels for the first time in the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

Applies to England

This guidance is for providers that are offering 16 to 19 study programmes.

Current T Level approved providers do not need to submit a registration form to provide T Levels for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

Check your eligibility

Providers currently funded to offer 16 to 19 study programmes and with existing students funded in band 5 (the full-time national funding band) will be eligible to offer all T Levels.

Providers who have a contract to provide apprenticeships or adult provision only are not eligible to apply.

Complete the registration form

  1. Access the 2026 registration form through your DfE Sign-in account. If you’re not yet registered, you’ll need to create a DfE Sign-in account first.

  2. Add the 2026 registration form to your account.

  3. Enter your UKPRN. This will be used to check that you have an Education and Skills funding agreement or contract with existing band 5 students, and that you’re funded to provide 16 to 19 study programmes from 2026.

Add the 2026 registration form to your account

You can do this by selecting:

  • ‘edit services on my account’ from the ‘related actions’ list
  • ‘online collections service - including risk protection arrangements’ and then ‘continue’
  • ‘2026 T Level registration for providers planning to deliver T Levels from the 2026 to 2027 academic year’ role and then ‘continue’

Information we’ll need

You need to provide us with information on:

  • any structural changes, or whether you’ve converted to academy status
  • the T Levels you plan to offer in the 2026 to 2027 academic year, and planned student numbers (an estimate is fine)
  • the T Level occupational specialisms you’re interested in offering in the 2026 to 2027 academic year (an estimate is fine)
  • whether you plan to provide the T Level foundation year (formerly the T Level transition programme) in the 2026 to 2027 academic year

To offer a T Level foundation year, you must be planning to offer a T Level within the same T Level occupational route. T Level foundation year students are funded as part of your usual 16 to 19 study programmes offer, so these students will be counted within the usual full-time lagged student numbers that we allocate funding for each year. More information is available in the T Level funding guidance.

Submit your registration form

When you submit the 2026 registration form, you’ll receive an email confirmation that it has been submitted.

Contact us by emailing TLevel.REGISTRATION@education.gov.uk if you:

  • do not receive a confirmation email
  • have any technical issues when registering

Registration deadlines

Submit your 2026 registration form before midnight on 21 March 2025. Eligible applicants may receive an upfront funding allocation to support T Level delivery in the 2026 to 2027 academic year and may be able to access implementation planning support to prepare for T Level delivery.

The T Level funding guidance sets out more details on funding arrangements.

Once you’re registered, you’ll be able to access:

We’ll contact you approximately one month after you apply to confirm the outcome of your T Level application. If you’ve informed us of a structural change, it may take slightly longer to process your application.

T Levels available

There are 21 T Levels available for delivery in 2024, offering over 70 areas of occupationally specific learning, with more being launched in 2025 and 2026.

New T Levels planned for teaching in 2025 and 2026 are still subject to change. Changes might include changes of names or scope for the T Levels or occupational specialisms currently in development. We will not update this registration form to reflect small changes, but providers can keep up-to-date on T Level developments through our T Level support website, where they can sign up to receive the T Level Newsletter or by engaging with the relevant awarding organisation(s).

Each T Level offers core learning relevant to the sector, and occupational specialisms that are specific areas of study leading to technical occupations.

More information about T Level subjects is available at T Levels support for schools and colleges.
