Get permission to use DVSA logos
Apply for permission to use Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) logos if you're a driving or motorcycle instructor or provide other driver training.
You must apply to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to get permission if you want to use its logos.
DVSA can provide you with an official logo if you’re a:
- approved driving instructor
- pass plus instructor
- motorcycle approved training body (ATB)
- DVSA enhanced rider scheme trainer
There’s a different process to apply to use the Driver CPC or DVSA earned recognition logo.
You have to follow certain rules if you’re given permission. DVSA can withdraw your permission to use the logos at any time.
DVSA logos are protected by law. You cannot use them without permission.
Apply for permission
Apply online for permission to use the logos.
You’ll need:
- your ADI number if you’re a driving instructor
- your ATB number if you’re a motorcycle approved training body
- your DVSA enhanced rider scheme trainer registration number if you’re a DVSA enhanced rider scheme trainer
What happens next
You’ll usually get a response within 10 working days. DVSA will send the logo files to your email address if your application is successful.
Rules for using the logo
You must not:
- stretch or distort the logo
- change the colour of the logo
- change the lettering or wording
- make the logo bigger or more prominent than your logo
- use the logo to suggest you or an organisation are part of DVSA
Where you can use the logo
You can use the logo on:
- business letter headed paper, compliment slips and business cards
- clothing, vehicles, advertising material and promotional merchandise
- email or web templates
- business adverts in classified directories, for example, the Yellow Pages
- websites
- a business product that promotes road safety in the context of safe driving

You will be sent the DVSA earned recognition logo when you join earned recognition.
Apply to use the Driver CPC logo
Contact the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) to apply for permission to use the Driver CPC logo.

Contact DVSA if you think its logos are being misused or used without permission.
It will help if you send:
- website links or screenshots if you saw it online
- photos if you saw it somewhere else
