Inspections

If you are on the Early Years Register, we will carry out regular inspections. We inspect 10% of providers only on the Childcare Register each year.

You must continue to show that you are suitable to look after children and follow all requirements. We monitor this through:

• regular inspections
• visits by inspectors, or repeat/additional checks, to follow up any concerns that we receive

If you work on different premises for up to 50% of your time, we will inspect you wherever you would normally be at the time of inspection. For instance, if you are a childminder but run an after-school club on Fridays, and we arrange the inspection for a Friday, we will inspect you there.
