Guidance

Apply for a certificate of free sale for export

Use a certificate of free sale to export or move products for human consumption and products for animal consumption.

To apply for a certificate of free sale you’ll need:

  • the name and address of the company exporting or moving the products
  • a phone number and email address of someone who can answer any questions about your application and the products you’re exporting or moving
  • to know the country that will receive the products
  • the name of the product you’re exporting or moving

You can also choose to provide additional information to be included on the certificate such as a trader declaration.

If you apply for a manufacture and free sale certificate for products for animal consumption, you’ll also need to provide a schedule of analysis.

You should allow 10 working days from applying to receive your certificates.

It’s free to apply and the certificates do not expire unless the country you’re exporting to specifies a time limit.
