The Home Office keeps its visa regime under regular review and makes changes when appropriate. There are currently a total of 113 countries that require UK visas. The UK operates a transit visa regime which requires the nationals of 60 of these countries to hold a visa for both airside and landside transit through the UK (a ‘direct airside transit visa’ for airside transit or as a ‘visitor in transit visa’ for landside transit).

The Home Secretary has announced that from 1st December 2014, Montenegrin citizens will no longer require a Direct Airside Transit Visa when passing through a UK airport to another flight. This will only apply when the traveller does not pass through border control. For entry in the United Kingdom, Montenegrin nationals will continue to require the appropriate entry visa, meaning that if you are changing planes to a different airport in the UK, you will need to pass through border control and will need to obtain an appropriate visa before travelling.
