Part of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on fire

A large fire broke out at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) early this morning. Emergency services are on the scene to contain the fire, but the airport has been closed down to all flights until further notice. No reported casualties. JKIA authorities and the government report that incoming flights are being diverted to Mombasa or Eldoret. Potential passengers or those meeting them should contact the relevant airline, monitor news and social media broadcasts (including Facebook and @UKinKenya on Twitter), and check for further FCO travel advice updates.
