The UK and Cuba work together on tackling money laundering

The British Embassy funded a GovRisk initiative to train Cuban officials in international rule to tackle financial crime

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Participants of the workshop that was run from 12 to 15 November 2013 were also trained for the next GAFI assessment in 2014.

British Ambassador to Havana Tim Cole has mentioned:

“I am really pleased that the British government is supporting this initiative. Money laundering and terrorism finance are threats that trespass borders and that require we reinforce our legal, judicial and security standards, both nationally and internationally.”

This effort reflects the commitment of the UK and Cuba to tackle these issues.
