British High Commission Kigali celebrates the Queen's birthday
20 June 2013, the British High Commissioner HE Ben Llewellyn-Jones OBE, hosted a celebration of the birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
British High Commissioner Ben Llewellyn-Jones was joined at the event at his Residence by Hon Ambassador Claver Gatete, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, and former Rwandan High Commissioner to the UK. After giving their speeches, the Minister and High Commissioner shared a toast to the UK and Rwanda.
The reception was attended by a wide range of guests from the Rwandan Government and civil society, the British Community in Rwanda, and Kigali’s diplomatic community. Those attending enjoyed typical British food and drinks, including fish and chips and Pimms.
In addition to the Hon Minister Gatete, other members of the Rwandan Cabinet were also present.
