These statistics include the total number of people:

  • who have made a claim for Universal Credit to 11 October 2018
  • who have made a claim and have attended an initial interview, accepted their claimant commitment, and gone on to start Universal Credit up to 11 October 2018
  • who are on Universal Credit at 11 October 2018

The statistics are broken down by:

  • Jobcentre Plus office
  • age
  • employment status
  • conditionality regime

This publication also includes statistics for households on Universal Credit up to 9 August 2018, showing the number of households and average monthly award amounts broken down by:

  • Jobcentre Plus office
  • entitlement components
  • payment indicator
  • family type
  • tenure

DWP is currently investigating a discrepancy with the data on duration on Universal Credit. While we assess the scale of this issue we have removed this breakdown from Stat-Xplore. Caution should be used when viewing this breakdown via other mechanisms (such as supplementary tables).
