Details

Quarterly statutory homeless statistics have been published since December 2018. This annual release takes previously published data to show a fuller analysis of the data over time.

These statistics were labelled Accredited Official Statistics in October 2023. Information on Accredited Official Statistics is available on the UK Statistics Authority website.

  1. Corrected financial year 2023-24 dataset has been uploaded. This change corrects figures for households ending prevention and relief duties for (Tables P4 and R4) who were accommodated from other areas. There may be some small changes to in this file compared to the written release on Statutory homelessness during 2023-24, due to scheduled data revisions which have since taken place. Latest datasets including up to date revised files can be found on our Tables on homelessness page.

  2. Text description in the release document has been changed. This now lists the most common reasons for households with children owed a relief duty was due to family and friends no longer able to accommodate, followed by domestic abuse.

  3. Added annual support needs dashboard.
