Details

Gross tonnage on the UK Ship Register was 10.2 million at end of December 2021, an increase of 2%, compared to the end of December 2020.

Based on commercial data supplied by IHS Global:

• at the end of 2021, the UK registered trading fleet was the 24th largest trading fleet in the world and accounted for 0.5% of the world fleet deadweight tonnage

• the ‘UK fleet’ of ships either owned, parent owned or managed in the UK is larger than the UK registered trading fleet, comprising in total 4% of the world trading fleet, by deadweight tonnage
