A report providing statistics on the size of the UK and world shipping fleets.

In 2016, the UK registered trading fleet measured 14.4 million deadweight tonnes. On this basis, the UK registered trading fleet:

• grew by 6% compared to 2015, a second year of growth from 2014
• remained the nineteenth largest trading fleet in the world
• as in 2015, accounted for 0.8% of the global fleet
