Details

These statistics cover police use of force in England and Wales between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025. Data was collected from the 43 Home Office funded police forces in England and Wales, and the British Transport Police (BTP).

Police use of force statistics, year ending 31 March 2025, are classified as official statistics. They have been published since the year ending 31 March 2018.

  1. Updated to second edition due to Derbyshire Police submitting revised data following a system change. This resulted in a small decrease in the total number of reports (a reduction of 2) and also led to some changes to the content of records, most notably in relation to recorded tactics and officer injury data. Further details are provided in the 'Revisions' section of the publication.
