Details

The life opportunities survey (LOS) is a large-scale longitudinal survey of disability in Great Britain. It is the first major social survey to explore disability in terms of the social barriers to participation that people in Great Britain experience. The survey was carried out for the Office for Disability Issues, part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

This report presents a summary of the latest information collected from wave 1 of the survey, for which fieldwork was conducted across Great Britain between June 2009 and March 2011.
