Detail

These statistics record the number of people beginning and ending Housing Benefit (HB) claims. They also include a breakdown by local authority.

Council Tax Benefit (CTB) was abolished in April 2013 and replaced by a system of localised support. In England, the Department for Communities and Local Government is now responsible for these statistics. The Scottish and Welsh Governments have similar responsibility. The statistics shown here provide the final numbers relating to Council Tax Benefit.
