DCMS-sponsored Museums and Galleries Annual Performance Indicators 2024/25
This release provides aggregate statistics on agreed performance indicators for DCMS-sponsored museums and galleries from April 2024 to March 2025.

Details
A small correction was made to the commentary of this report. When comparing museums open in both time periods, the total number of visits in 2023/24 was 42.4 million, rather than 42.5 million as previously reported. The percentage change over time is unchanged. The commentary about the total number of visits was also slightly amended, to clarify that there were 42.0 million visits to sponsored museums and galleries in total in 2024/25, and 41.8 million visits when including only only museums that were open in 2024/25, 2023/24, and 2018/19. Data in the rest of the report and in the accompanying data tables is not affected by this change.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) sponsors 15 national museums which provide free entry to their permanent collections. This release presents the annual performance indicator data collected by DCMS-sponsored museums and galleries for the financial year 2024/25.
