Revision note: On 25 April 2024, the DCMS-sponsored museums and galleries annual performance indicators 2022/23 report was revised after an error was identified in the commentary. Section 2.3 of the report contained figures for 2021/22 and this has now been updated to the latest 2022/23 figures. Data included in the rest of the report and in the accompanying data tables is not affected by this change.
About
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) sponsors 15 national museums which provide free entry to their permanent collections. This release presents the annual performance indicator data collected by DCMS-sponsored museums and galleries for the financial year 2022/23.
