A misalignment error caused crime rates for 2022/23 and 2023/24 to be listed under the incorrect crime types in Worksheet EC of the supplementary data tables. A similar misalignment error occurred when calculating percentage change in Worksheet EB, which caused increases to be shown as decreases, and decreases to be shown as increases. Both worksheets have now been revised to correct the errors. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Details

A compendium of communities and households statistics for Rural and Urban areas in England.

The May 2026 release of the Communities and Households Digest includes analysis updates for the following topic within this theme:

Section C, Poverty due to low income
Section D, Household expenditure

The supplementary data tables provide additional statistics for each section of the Digest, using the Rural-Urban Classification categories. The Local Authority data tables supply the disaggregated datasets, used to conduct analysis in the Digest, at a Local Authority level where feasible.
