About the Child Maintenance Options service

The Child Maintenance Options service provides impartial information and support to help parents make appropriate child maintenance arrangements. It is there to help both parents, or anyone else with an interest in child maintenance and is not biased towards any one way of arranging child maintenance.

Since November 2013, separated parents must talk to the options service before they are able to use the Child Maintenance Service (CMS) to make a child maintenance arrangement.
