Details

Since 1 April 2008 we’ve collected information on the number of child deaths that child death overview panels (CDOPs) have reviewed on behalf of their local safeguarding children boards (LSCBs) in England.

This statistical first release covers reviews completed between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015. It includes information from all CDOPs about:

  • the characteristics of the children who died (like age, gender and cause of death)
  • deaths with ‘modifiable factors’ (factors that could be changed to reduce the risk of future child deaths)

You can also see data collected from CDOPs on previous reviews.
