Details

This publication presents information on selected building materials, including monthly data on:

• price indices
• bricks
• cement
• concrete blocks

It also provides quarterly data on:

• sand and gravel
• slate
• concrete roofing tiles
• ready-mixed concrete
• imports and exports of construction products

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has resumed publication of producer price indices (PPIs) following a pause in publication this year while issues with chain linking of data were resolved. This edition of the publication includes a one-off data table containing a time series of revised back data for PPIs, showing revised data back to 2009.

As of this edition, we have resumed the publication of construction material price indices (CMPIs – Tables 1a and 1b), following a pause while issues with PPIs were being resolved by ONS. Data has been revised from July 2020 onwards. Users should download the latest tables to ensure they have access to the most accurate data.
