Wider Determinants of Health: May 2017 data update
This update will include three new indicators; economic inactivity rate, density of fast food outlets, air pollution: fine particulate matter. Three existing Marmot indicators will also be updated; households not reaching minimum income standard, 19 to 24 year olds not in education, employment or training, long-term claimants of job seeker’s allowance. Indicators are presented at a local authority level to enable comparisons across authorities and with England, as well as by regional and sub-regional average. The wider determinants of health tool is designed to provide the public health system with intelligence on the broad range of individual, social and environmental factors which influence health outcomes, to help improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
