Details

The release reports on appeals relating to admissions at the start of the 2018 to 2019 academic year. It is based on appeals submitted with the appropriate admissions authority by 1 September 2018.

The publication includes, by school phase:

  • the number and percentage of appeals submitted
  • the number which are heard by an appeals panel

Of the appeals heard, the number and percentage found in the parent’s favour (upheld) is also given.

The data is additionally broken down by school type (for example, foundation or academy schools) and, separately, by local authority.
