Academic year 2017 to 2018 Offender Learning

Offender learning tables cover learners funded by the Offender Learning and Skills Service (OLASS). This covers a wide range of learning aims for adults (aged 18 and over) in custody in prisons in England, including awards and units, with a focus on addressing English and maths at the start of a sentence and vocational skills in the run-up to release.

Offender learners are included in our headline Further education and skills, and Education and training figures. Responsibility for budget and delivery transferred to the Ministry of Justice from 1 October 2016 following a machinery of government change, meaning separate offender learning breakdowns until only 2017 to 2018 are reported separately here.
