The GSF must be able to fully deploy, to address instability, and turn the tide against the gangs.
That is why the United Kingdom voted in favour of this resolution.
We commend the efforts of Panama and of the United States in leading this work.
The United Kingdom is fully committed to the success of the mission, and we have contributed $7.5 million to its human rights compliance mechanism.
We condemn all perpetrators of gang attacks, including the use of civilians as human shields, hostage taking, sexual violence, and the deliberate targeting of vulnerable communities.
Humanitarian and medical workers must be protected, allowed to operate safely, and without obstruction.
