The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport commissioned an independent provider to undertake a Youth Evidence Review. The review was made up of two pieces of research that looked to understand the challenges and opportunities facing young people and to inform government thinking on youth policy. The two parts are:

  1. A rapid evidence assessment which summarises evidence on the extent to which young people are experiencing positive wellbeing, safe and treated fairly and equally, mentally and physically healthy, learning and prepared for work and active members of society. Please note this evidence assessment took place before the pandemic.

  2. Deep dive qualitative research involving eight focus groups with young people aged 13-24 in urban, rural and coastal locations of England.
