Declaration of National Nature Reserve

Parishes of Upper Arley, Bewdley, Rock, Kinlet and Cleobury Mortimer

Unitary Authority of Shropshire and county of Worcestershire

Notice is hereby given that:

In accordance with section 19(3) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 (as amended), and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, Natural England has, by the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve No.05 Declaration made on the 30th day of November 2021 declared that the land having a total area of 102.48 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parishes of Bewdley and Rock in the County of Worcestershire and in the Parish of Cleobury Mortimer in the Unitary Authority of Shropshire and shown cross hatched black on the maps attached to the said Declaration (which land was included in the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve No.01 Declaration made by the Nature Conservancy Council on the 9th day of March 1978, and the No.03 Declaration made by the Nature Conservancy Council for England on the 28th day of November 1991) has either ceased to be held and managed by Natural England as a nature reserve, or is no longer the subject of a nature reserve agreement.

And in pursuance of section 19(1) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, Natural England has declared the land having a total area of 1002.39 hectares or thereabouts, situated in the Parishes of Upper Arley, Bewdley and Rock in the County of Worcestershire and in the Parishes of Kinlet and Cleobury Mortimer in the Unitary Authority of Shropshire and shown single hatched and shaded yellow on the maps attached to the said Declaration, as a National Nature Reserve.

Natural England is satisfied that the land is of national importance.
