The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Biffa Waste Services Limited.

Biffa Waste Services Limited (Biffa) is the Operator at the Wednesbury Waste Management Resource Centre (the Site). The Site is currently authorised (waste installation permit) to accept and process up to 196,200 tonnes per annum of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid and solid wastes. Biffa wishes to add a further activity under S5.3 Part A(1)(a)(ii) to allow physico-chemical treatment of nitrous oxide received in pressure containers.
