About the Expert Review 

The First Order Draft (FOD) of the Working Group I Contribution to the Seventh Assessment Report will be available for expert review from 10 August 2026 until 10.59pm BST on 2 October 2026.

The Expert Review of the FOD is a key element of the IPCC assessment process, helping to ensure that the report provides a balanced and comprehensive assessment of the latest available scientific findings. The IPCC Procedures state that the expert review process shall be objective, open and transparent, with a wide circulation that aims to involve as many independent experts as possible, seeking a wide range of views, expertise, and geographical representation.  

How to apply  

The IPCC is inviting experts to register as prospective reviewers of the FOD of the Working Group I contribution to the Seventh Assessment Report via the IPCC website.   

Registration closes on 25 September 2026 at 10.59pm BST. Additional information on the role of an Expert Reviewer can be found in Annex 1 of Appendix A to the Principles Governing IPCC Work.
